“Mentorship and sponsorship are arguably the most important piece of a WIC’s career/training. I was fortunate to be mentored by an amazing interventional cardiologist during my medical school training which in large part positively influenced my path to cardiology and intervention. I think that the key to recruiting more WIC is to start mentorship/sponsorship very early in education and I hope that this campaign will influence more women early in their education to pursue this incredible field!”

As a fellow in training, I have been fortunate to be involved with the Ohio ACC. I served on the FIT Council from 2019-2020 and helped in spearheading the formation of a WIC section in the Ohio ACC Chapter. We have held several successful events including a networking dinner and a leadership development virtual meeting, both of which were well attended. This year I was elected to be a Co-Chair for the Ohio ACC FIT Council and have had a great year so far in formulating a Career Development Lecture Series for Ohio FITs.
