Twitter: @She’s BRIDGING the gap between pediatric and adult cardiology.
“I hope to be able to take care of adult congenital heart disease patients in my future clinic. In particular I would like to care for pregnant congenital patients. I would like to help increase provider knowledge and comfort with these patients as well by continuing to teach medical residents and fellows.”
I trained in internal medicine and became the chief internal medicine resident for my residency, where I developed a new outpatient simulation curriculum for our residents. I then entered adult general cardiology fellowship and ultimately became chief fellow, and in this role re-envigorated learning opportunities for our fellows in adult congenital heart disease that had long been dormant. I connected with both pediatric and adult cardiologists to maximize options for fellows in this field. I was a fellow representative of the Illinois Chapter of the ACC and in that role organized multiple events to highlight fellow research and create networking opportunities for local fellows. I am now an adult congenital heart disease fellow at the Ohio State University.
