“She looks like a cardiologist who danced as a Rockette at Radio City Music Hall. I traded my sequins for a stethoscope, but I still kick those ‘eye highs’ in the hallways of the echo lab!

“Mentorship in WIC is important because there is some truth to, “you can’t be what you can’t see.” We can all dare to dream, but dreams become actionable when you can identify allies who will help sponsor your interests and goals. The pie is big enough for us all to have a slice, so grab a fork and dig in!”

Two years after completing my Cardiology Fellowship I founded and directed the Women’s Heart Center at Henry Ford Hospital from 2016-2020. I was the Chair of Michigan’s Women in Cardiology Section from 2018-2020. I am the organizational Chair of the MidWest WIC Alliance (comprised of 6 Midwestern ACC Chapters), which aims to entice female high school students to the field of Cardiology with our #shelookslikeacardiologist campaign.

She’s a TRENDSETTER blazing trails for women in Cardiology.
