At OhioHealth Dr. Albers developed and is co-director of the Sports Cardiology program, developed the multidisciplinary Women’s Heart & Vascular program, and is medical director for Supervised Exercise Therapy for PAD. She serves on the Cardiology Peer Review Committee at Riverside Methodist Hospital as well as on the editorial board for Vascular Medicine, the journal for the Society for Vascular Medicine. Her Ohio ACC board service introduced her to advocacy. Her advocacy work with Ohio ACC includes promoting legislation for CPR/AED education for Ohio high school students now Lindsey’s Law. Dr. Albers has managed her t1d for 32 years, and raises awareness of type 1 diabetes as well as support for the nonprofit Beyond Type 1. She ran her 10th marathon with the organization’s Beyond Type Run team at the 2017 NYC marathon.
