Ohio-ACC member Jennifer Dicken, BSN, RN-BC, AACC, attended the October 2014 ACC Legislative Conference in Washington, DC, and the March 2015 Ohio-ACC Legislative Day in Columbus. She had the opportunity to meet many legislators, and she followed up with them. She invited Congressman Steve Stivers (R-OH 15th District) and State Senator Troy Balderson (R-20) , to tour the Project BRIGHT facility expansion building at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster, Ohio, on April 3, 2015. Forging relationships with legislators is especially important, and ACC advocacy activities provide a springboard for taking the next step.
