The Ohio-ACC has compiled Prior Authorization resources for you to utilize.
The Ohio Chapter of the American College of Cardiology has launched an initiative to provide resources to ease the burden on providers and improve patient care since numerous cardiovascular procedures and medications still require prior authorization from insurers.
Following is a collection of important links. The site also provides some initial sample denial appeal letters for several common cardiovascular medications; additional agents will be added in the future. Finally, we have developed some sample templates for new drug starts to guide the language used in the prior authorization process. The Chapter hopes to develop this into a primary resource for members approaching prior authorizations and ultimately improve patient care.
