Congratulations to Election Winners!

Congratulations to Anne R. Albers, MD, PhD, FACC, for being elected as the next Ohio-ACC President, and to Beth Short, DNP, MSN, AACC, AGACNP, FNP for being appointed as the next Cardiovascular Team Chapter Representative! They will serve in an “elect” role beginning in March 2026 and assume their new roles in March 2027.

Dr. Albers is a board-certified cardiologist with the OhioHealth Physician Group in Columbus, Ohio, specializing in cardiovascular imaging and prevention. She practices at Riverside Methodist Hospital with clinical interests in women’s heart health, sports cardiology, diabetes-related heart disease, and vascular disease. A Fellow of the ACC, ASE, AHA, and SVM, Dr. Albers is an active national and state advocate for cardiovascular health, contributing to initiatives ranging from AED and CPR access to healthcare payment reform and heart disease research. She serves as Co-Director of the OhioHealth Sports Cardiology Program and Medical Director of the Supervised Exercise Therapy program for Peripheral Artery Disease. Dr. Albers earned her M.D. and Ph.D. from The Ohio State University and completed her cardiology fellowship at Boston University/Boston Medical Center. Dedicated to education and mentorship, she frequently speaks on cardiovascular prevention, risk factor management, and heart health in athletes.
