August 10 before midnight: Submissions Due (& Meeting Registration Required)
August 26: Abstract Acceptance Notification, Two Fellow in Training Oral Competition Participants Announced
September 27: Top two Fellow in Training poster abstracts (judged in advance of the meeting) to be presented at the meeting in the Oral Competition. The winners of the poster competition will also be announced at the end of the meeting.
NOTE: For those cardiology fellows in training with accepted abstracts and residing outside of the Columbus area, one night’s hotel room and tax for the evening of September 26th will be reimbursed at a maximum of $211 + tax. Only the presenting author of the poster will be reimbursed. Visit this link to make your room reservation at Hilton Columbus at Easton at the Ohio-ACC rate of $211+tax before September 5. Make sure to keep your receipt to turn in for reimbursement.
Eligibility
All current Ohio fellows in an Ohio cardiology training program are invited to participate.
Eligible submission: Clinical Research or a Case Report.
Only ONE abstract may be submitted per person.
All current Ohio medical residents in an Ohio training program are invited to participate.
Eligible submission: Case Report only.
* Residents may NOT submit/present research (nor on behalf of a secondary author).
* Residents must identify themselves as residents and not fellows.
Only ONE abstract may be submitted per person.
* NEITHER MEDICAL STUDENTS NOR PHYSICIANS WHO HAVE COMPLETED TRAINING ARE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPETITION. Please note that Ohio-ACC CV Team Members (Non-physician – RN, NP, CNS, PA, PharmD) will have the opportunity to present their posters at our Spring Summit.
You may present recent data or information that has been presented previously at a local or national meeting. Abstracts presented at the Ohio-ACC meeting may be submitted to ACC.26 for consideration.
The submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment by the submitting author to participate in the Annual Meeting on September 27th if his/her poster is accepted. No one else can present on the submitting author’s behalf.
Submission
- Submission requirements include:
1) abstract,
2) pdf of your poster, AND
3) link to an MP4 voice-over PowerPoint presentation of your submission. - Submissions accepted for presentation will be required to be present at the Annual Meeting of the Ohio-ACC.
- Submissions accepted for presentation at the Ohio-ACC Annual Meeting will also be available On Demand through the ePoster Portal.
- Abstract Title: The title should be brief (limited to 15 words) and should be succinct and descriptive.
- Abstract Body: Maximum of 500 words. Maximum one image (e.g. EKG or graph or table, etc.).
JPEG format only, maximum file size 500 kb, maximum pixel size 600 x 800. Your one image does not count towards word count. For higher quality output we recommend your images be set at 300 dpi and crop out any unnecessary surrounding white space. - Abstract Layout:
Clinical research abstracts must use the following layout:

Case report abstracts must use the following layout:

Here is a good reference for putting together a case report. - Abstract PowerPoint Voice-Over:
a) Create a PowerPoint deck with a maximum duration of 5 minutes.
Clinical Research – 6-slide presentation:
The first slide should be your title slide and listing of authors.
The second slide should be “Background.”
The third slide should be “Objective.”
The fourth slide should be “Methods.”
The fifth slide should be “Results.”
The sixth slide should be “Conclusion.”
Case Report – 5-slide presentation:
The first slide should be your title slide and listing of authors.
The second slide should be “Introduction/Objective.”
The third slide should be “Case Presentation.”
The fourth slide should be “Discussion.”
The fifth slide should be “Conclusion.”
b) Record your voice-over presentation. Here are simple instructions to record in PowerPoint. | Here are simple instructions to record via Zoom.
c) Save your voice-over presentation as an MP4 file.
d) Upload your MP4 file to YouTube and provide a link.

If you do not have a Google Drive account please create one. If you already have an account, sign in to your account.
Get the public link to your video file.
Open the file you want to share.
Click Share or ShareGet link.
Under “Get Link,”
Select “Anyone with the link” and toggle to “Viewer”
Copy link.
Click Done.
Paste the link in the abstract submission portal where indicated. - Upload a pdf of your poster.
