Submission

Abstract Form for Submission and submit by email to ohioacc@gmail.com by
September 15th. Submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment by the author
to be present on October 14th if his/her poster is accepted.
Maximum of two abstracts may be submitted per
person.
NOTE: All fellows MUST also register for the
meeting.
Who Can Participate
All current Ohio fellows in a cardiology
training program are
invited to present their research (past or present) during the poster
session, scheduled for Saturday, October 14th, from 7:00-7:55 a.m. and 9:45-10:30 a.m.
Eligible posters may present recent data, case study or information that
has been presented previously at a local or national meeting.
Judging
The abstracts will be judged in advance to select the top two abstracts for oral presentation.
The rest of the accepted abstracts will be presented as posters and judged
at the poster presentation on Saturday,
October 14, from 7:00 - 7:55 a.m. and 9:45 - 10:30 a.m.
Prizes

Presentation
- First and second place for the oral
presentation will be awarded
based on a combination of abstract content and oral presentation delivery
as judged by a panel of cardiologists from various institutions.
First place - $500
Second place - $300 - Poster
Presentation
First place - $300
Second place - $200
Winners will be announced on Saturday, October 14, at the end of the meeting. - Hotel Reimbursement - For those fellows residing outside of the Columbus area, one night’s hotel room and tax will be reimbursed. Call 866.233.9393 to make your room reservation. Make sure to keep your receipt to turn in for reimbursement.
Guidelines

Type abstract in the 6" x 4 ¾" rectangle box on the abstract form. The size of type should be no smaller than 10 pt. type.

Title and Authors. The title should be brief, clearly indicating the nature of the study. CAPITALIZE THE ENTIRE TITLE. State all authors’ initials and last names followed by their institutional affiliations, city, and state. UNDERLINE PRESENTING AUTHOR only. Do not include street address and zip code. INDENT FIRST LINE OF TEXT at least three spaces.

Content. Organize the body of abstract to include a) purpose of study (preferably one sentence); b) methods used; c) a summary of results in sufficient detail to support the conclusions; and d) conclusions reached - it is not satisfactory to state "results will be discussed" or "other data will be presented."

Abbreviations should conform to the Style Manual for Biological Journals (American Institute of Biological Sciences, 3900 Wisconsin Ave., Washington, DC 20016). Avoid abbreviations in the abstract title. Place non-standard abbreviations in parentheses after the full word the first time it appears.
Day of the
Meeting
To prepare your abstract for the poster presentation, please note
that you will have available to you a 4’x6’ board to which to adhere your
presentation material. You may want to bring pushpins to affix your material.
The poster session will take place from 9:45-10:30 a.m. on Saturday,
October 14th. Please stand by your
posters to answer questions.
